A pioneer in the Jewish community as a donor-activist for programs to empower Jewish women and girls, Barbara Dobkin is one of the most visible and committed advocates for change. She is the Founder of Ma’yan, the Jewish Women’s Project, a program of the JCC of Manhattan, was the Founding Chair of the Board of the Jewish Women’s Archive and the Hadassah Foundation and a founder of Jewish Women Professionals and the Jewish Community.

She serves on the boards of the White House Project, The Women’s Funding Network, Lilith Magazine, American Jewish World Service and is the Chair of the Dafna Israeli Fund in Israel. In addition, she is a significant supporter of and advisor to a variety of not-for-profits, both Jewish and secular and speaks internationally.
