Development Internship in Foundation and Institutional Support

Experience and learn about nonprofit partnerships, the proposal process and grants management in an international funding network.

The Women's Funding Network is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic person who is interested in women's and girls' issues revolving around social justice. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and research abilities. This internship is an opportunity to experience and learn about nonprofit partnerships, the proposal process and grants management in an international funding network.

The Women's Funding Network is a world-wide membership of 129 women's and girls' funds. Our members support the solutions of women and girls through local, national and international grants. WFN advances this movement by supporting these funds through innovative programs and capacity-building expertise. Together, we are creating a safer and more secure world by investing in women and girls.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Research foundation and corporation prospects
  • Assist Development Associate with duties on strategic projects
  • Assist with writing letters and grant proposals to current and prospective supporters
  • Perform administrative duties such as mailings, organizing and filing
  • Support data entry activities using Raiser’s Edge software (we will train)


Requirements:

  • Strong internet research skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred, but not required
  • Discrete handling of confidential information
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects
  • Must be comfortable working in a busy office environment and display strong interpersonal skills
  • Applicants must be receiving credit for internship hours from an accredited college or university and able to work 10-20 hours per week for a period no shorter than three months.

The Intern will report to the Development Associate. This is an unpaid internship. This position is open until filled.
