At the recent, 2008 Women’s Funding Network Annual Conference, an expert panel explored how aging and health intersect with one another and impact the economic security of women. Our panelist made the case for why this is an emerging concern, examining the issue and painting the broader economic and health picture for older women. The consensus following this panel presentation was to continue this conversation.

A Fund for Women

A Fund for Women, a component fund of The Madison Community Foundation was established in 1993 to improve the lives of girls and women in our community. Since that first year, when a group of original visionary donors put together an endowment fund of $100,000, the fund has grown to over $1.4 million. Even more importantly, A Fund for Women has given over $620,000 back to our community in less than 15 years.
