Founded in 1990, Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) is a national membership and philanthropic advocacy organization dedicated to bridging philanthropy and AsianPacific American (APA) communities. AAPIP seeks to increase the leadership and participation of APAs in the philanthropic sector; to connect philanthropy with APA and other immigrant and refugee communities; and to increase resources to these underserved populations.

Since its inception over 15 years ago, Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy has expanded its programs to support the work of AAPI's in philanthropy, encourage AAPI giving, become a resource for donors and communities and serve as an incubator of new ideas and approaches for social justice philanthropy. AAPIP has released many notable publications highlighting pressing issues in immigrant and refugee communities, and grown from a 39 member volunteer group to a professionally staffed membership and advocacy organization with eight regional chapters and more than 400 members.
